About Me

Dr. Patricia J. Culligan is a Professor of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at Columbia University in the City of New York. Her research focuses on applying geo-environmental engineering principles to multiple issues, including problems involving groundwater flow and contaminant transport as well as the challenges of urban sustainability. Dr. Culligan is the founder and Director of Columbia University?s Education Center for Sustainable Engineering and a member of the Earth Institute?s Urban Design Lab. Dr. Culligan is the author or co-author of over 100 technical articles, including five books, four book chapters, and over 65 refereed journal and conference proceedings. She received her PhD in Civil Engineering from Cambridge University, England.
