About Me

I am an Associate Professor in the Division of Engineering at Colorado School of Mines and serve as Director of the SmartGeo Intelligent Geosystems IGERT. My background in physics, structural dynamics and geotechnical engineering (along with my desire to operate heavy equipment!) has fueled his interest in intelligent geosystems and geoconstruction.

I immigrated from the U.K. at age 9, and spent my teenage years in the great State of Nebraska. I am married and am the proud papa of Aedan Claire. I am a hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding enthusiast, and dream of taking my Irish band on the road (as soon as I can find three other really good musicians who can cover up for my occasional errors).
