Achievement

Our project did not have trainees this year. On December 8, 2008 we held four separate one day workshops to further define the four research themes: 1. Climate and the urbanizing tropics 2. Water and the urbanizing tropics 3. Biodiversity and the urbanizing tropics 4. Urban system services These workshops were welll attended by researchers from academia and the government, and by prospective IGERT trainees. The workshops resulted in the establishment of links between the project and the attendees, and a better definition of the research questions to be addressed by the project.
