The Science and Engineering of Energry Production

Professor Eric McFarland developed a new course for senior undergraduate and graduate students titled The Science and Engineering of Energy Production (Chem 141). The course brought to the forefront the importance of economics in energy production. Basic financial models like investments and future worth and depreciation were taught and applied to real world energy problems. The physical basis of all the various forms of energy production as well as the ethics involved with each energy choice became one of the important interdisciplinary teaching points.
