Ethics modules on climate impacts and marketing

We developed two ethics modules that were used in an interdisciplinary setting in order to address issues surrounding sustainable development, globalization, and climate change. These modules have a focus on climate impacts and marketing to the bottom of the pyramid. Through these modules students learned to identify various micro ethical frameworks that underlie their thought process (egalitarianism, utilitarianism, etc.) and also recognize the need for macro ethics for complex systems (Allenby, B. 2005. Micro and Macro Ethics for an Anthropogenic Earth. Professional Ethics Report. XVIII(2).) These modules were presented in the Defining and Measuring Sustainability Course in Spring 2009. Course evaluations are pending.
