Visiting researchers address neuroimaging

Other, short-term, visitors addressed another under-represented area within the core faculty, neuroimaging. Leading researchers gave lectures and met with trainees to discuss their research, with the result that at least three trainees were able to find ways to incorporate neuroimaging methodology into their dissertation work. These visitors were chosen because, unlike most workers in neuroimaging, they have attempted to use this method to identify the internal structure of representations of information in the mind/brain. The new experimental and analytical methods these visitors are pioneering hold the potential of major breakthroughs which these trainees will now be able to pursue in their work, within the IGERT program and beyond, on one of the most central problems of our IGERT program, the structure of linguistic representations in the mind/brain.
