Achievement

Jason Graham completed the development of multiscale turbulence models, and he has also worked with the “big data” associated with large-scale turbulence models. In the large-scale turbulence database work, major progress was made this year in developing the computational tools and performing the simulations. For this work he is part of a team that is generating a ~50TB database of turbulent channel flow. They are currently preparing for the data collection which is expected to begin within a few weeks. Once data collection begins they will generate the database “on the fly” using MPI-DB which Jason is working to develop.
