IGERT course gains in interest and enrollment across campus

One of the two interdisciplinary courses developed specifically for our IGERT scholars, “Bioenergy Technology”, experienced a 50% increase in enrollment consisting of 50% non-IGERT students in Fall 2012. This team-taught course covers all aspects of the science and technology required to produce bioenergy, beginning with photosynthesis and ending with engine and fuel technology. Because of its significance relative to sustainability, this course is becoming known across campus as a solid course for learning about real-world bioenergy issues and how to solve them using creative, interdisciplinary approaches.
