Trainees gain confidence in research, leadership, and collaboration skills

Trainees feel confident in their research, leadership, and collaboration skills and think the project is having a positive impact on improving these skills sets. Mean ratings of Trainees’ level of agreement with statements regarding their skills tend to increase slightly during their second year of participation. In a survey of past Trainees, participants rated the level of impact the project had on their skill attainment on a scale of 1 (no positive impact) to 4 (a lot of positive impact). Mean ratings indicated the project has a positive impact on these skill sets, with a mean rating of 3.5 on research skills, 3.3 for collaboration skills, and 2.8 for leadership skills.
