Students initiate online publication

ABS students initiated an online publication entitled, “Applied Biodiversity Sciences (ABS) Perspectives Series: Advancing Conservation with Innovative Ideas from the Future Generation”. The Series is a collection of essays and research papers written by trainees, associates, affiliates, and alumni from Texas A&M University. Over the past three years, this electronic publication has provided a forum for sharing insights on relevant issues in the social and biological sciences that have emerged from the ABS curriculum, fieldwork, and collaborations among students in the program. Including the submissions considered “in press” for 2013, nearly 20 students have published articles in the Series. This publication outlet is a nice example of the ways in which members of the ABS community have communicated their ideas and opinions about the future of conservation with a broad audience.
