Education Achievements

Connecting ecology, conservation and pathogen biology

Connecting ecology, conservation and pathogen biology across diverse trainees in our IGERT program has relied on the overarching concept of health and well-being. Demonstrating the value of this approach current and past fellows have not only used this concept in their own research but have brought this message out to their colleagues and peers in a variety of venues. This year, our IGERT team of four current / former fellows (Luc Rougee, Kaipo Perez, Sean Macduff, and Rebecca Prescott) interacted with professional colleagues at the International Coral Reef Society meeting held in Cairns, Australia, in July 2012. In addition to their individual presentations, each of our IGERT delegates targeted feedback on their research and extended their professional network.
