Trainee Achievements

Mathematical models of fatigue research awarded

Trainee Clark Kogan presented his research titled “Comparing Parameter Estimation Techniques for Individual Differences in Mathematical Models of Fatigue”. Kogan, C.*, Kalachev, L., McCauley, P., Short, R., Van Dongen, H.P.A at the Sleep 2012 conference, Boston, MA, June 2012. He received the Sleep Research Society Abstract Excellence Award, Sleep Symposium 2013, Baltimore for his presentation “Comparing Estimation Techniques for Individual Differences in Parameters of Mathematical Models of Fatigue” Kogan, C.J.*, Kalachev, L., McCauley, P., Short, R.A., & Van Dongen, H. at SLEEP, June 2012, Boston, MA. Clark and mentors collaborate with the Sleep and Performance Research Center in Spokane, WA to develop modeling frameworks for constructing parameter estimates and predictions for a nonlinear mixed effects differential equation model which is directly applied to real-world performance data from the sleep lab.
