Trainees create courses to share expertise

IGERT trainees have in the past four years spontaneously created their own courses, in which they share their expertise via formal instruction. IGERT trainee Constantine Lignos offered a course in Python programming, the computer-programming language of choice among many analyzing linguistic phenomena. IGERT trainee Josef Fruehwald offered a course in the statistical programming language R, teaching students the details of multi-level linear modeling, a method used in several disciplines, including Psychology, Linguistics, Biology and Computer science to analyze experimental results. He continues to maintain an R-users support group.
