Associate participates in Rapid Startup School program

IGERT Associate (and IGERT trainee candidate) registered for the Spring 2012 Rapid Startup School program offered by the Arizona State University (ASU) Venture Catalyst Program. As opposed to standard academic modules and programs, this part-time program envisages a very ‘pracademic’ approach to developing an entrepreneurial mindset and real new venture creation. The program modules are taught by pracademic adjunct faculty from leading external organizations, supplemented by online modules from the ASU Venture Catalyst. The program’s core objectives are new venture creation and founder team formation through training in development of skills such as enterprise and innovation. Learning outcomes include ability to assess economic and societal impact, study product and market feasibility, and understand issues related to intellectual property, copyrights, patents and trademarks.
