Trainee makes research achievements
Trainee Rita Blaik had two noteworthy research achievements. (1) She successfully achieved reconstitution of glucose oxidase. This includes the separation of the apo-protein from GOx and the subsequent re-binding of the FAD active site to the apo-protein. (2) She achieved direct electron transfer (DET) of biofuel cells consisting of carbon nanotubes covalently bonded to glucose oxidase using the reconstitution process described above.
