Implementation of the iQuISE Teaching Laboratory

Dr. Wong, together with iQuISE Trainee Veronika Stelmakh, have completed implementation of the iQuISE Teaching Laboratory. This facility will allow iQuISE Trainees and Associates to perform quantum optics experiments that include spontaneous parametric downconversion, the Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) dip, and the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) form of Bell's inequality. These experiments will afford students the chance to work with entangled photon pairs and with heralded single photons. The HOM dip is the standard test for photon indistinguishability and the CHSH inequality is the standard test for polarization entanglement. Dr. Wong has made a presentation about the Teaching Laboratory at one of the regular iQuISE student lunches, and plans are underway for cycling the Trainees and Associates through the laboratory.
