Achievement

Significant growth in the second-year trainees' definitions and views of interdisciplinary research was observed during the required course GRAD 5134 Interdisciplinary Research: Engineering-Biology Interface. Trainees spent significant time studying and critiquing two recent National Academies' reports on interdisciplinary research. During this course, trainees also did much of the background work in identifying topics for their interdisciplinary research proposal, which are coming due this month.
