Achievement

This year (Spring 2011), we identified a Molecular Biology of Cancer course that is offered at Columbia University as a potential course that would be relevant for 2 of our first year graduate students (presently IGERT associates).

First year students have not been given the opportunity to take courses through the consortial agreements of schools in New York City. However, working with the graduate center of CUNY, we were able to enroll these two students in this course that is proving to be relevant to their work at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Hunter College and enlightening for them.

This opportunity will now be extended to future IGERT students in our program.
