Trainees take cognitive neuropsychology class

A number of our IGERT Trainees took a class in cognitive neuropsychology in the Fall of 2011. While this is normal for some of them, for four of the students (2 in Computer Science, 1 in Mechanical Engineering, and 1 in Sociology) this class fell well outside their major discipline. All of the students performed well in the class and the material motivated their ongoing research. In fact, IGERT Trainee Seth Long built on this training to direct his research toward graph-based data mining methods for identifying and visualizing patterns from brain images that are indicative of age, education, and affect of Alzheimer's Disease.
