Research presented to the American Geophysical Union

Trainee Chris Kelley collaborated with faculty from the Schools of the Environment and Biological Sciences at Washington State University and the United States Department of Agriculture- Agricultural Research Service at Washington State University. His research, which was presented at the American Geophysical Union Fall 2011 Meeting, evaluated the ability of buffer strips to reduce nitrate leaching from dryland agricultural systems in the Palouse Basin. The research indicated that buffer strips may not be an effective management practice for reducing nitrate leaching in regions with winter-dominant precipitation.
