Trainee participates in Transatlantic Program

C. Hoffman participated in Transatlantic Program - Young Technology Leaders Water Management intensive field program sponsored by the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest. The program selected 12 students and young professionals from the U.S. to participate in a trip through N Germany looking at sustainable water technologies. Experiences included: learning about efficient industrial processes for treating waste water in North Rhine Westphalin; an introduction to phosphorus recovery and micro pollutant removal strategies at the RWTH Aachen; Hamburg's drinking water treatment, distribution and infrastructure; legal public policy frameworks for managing water resources from members of the Federal Ministry for the Environment. The program brought future decision makers from the U.S. and Germany together to build networks and promote transfer of know-how through content-driven encounters and experiences.
