Achievement

The MultiSTEPS interactive seminar series (ISS) introduced trainees to a wide array of research projects, faculty and other trainees. The ISS activities provided a consistent venue for interaction and a means of tying evolving segments together. The ISS showcased ongoing collaborations among MultiSTEPs faculty and illustrated how seemingly divergent disciplines could contribute to more effective investigation of a scientific problem. Faculty were highly engaged from the start and conversations were lively. Trainees were initially reticent to ask questions and participate, but interactive nature of the discussions effectively brought trainees into the conversations as the year progressed. Interaction also improved as trainees began presenting results from their research rotation activities.
