Achievement

With the new NSF requirement for data management plans, the Open Data IGERT provided an exceptional opportunity for students, faculty, and research administrators to discuss the potential impact of this requirement on the research process. As a topic of discussion in both the data curation course and the Open Data Seminar, trainees and associates were able to consider how to create data management plans, how to ascertain which data might be worthy of sharing, and how to manage research data across a wide variety of research venues.
