Achievement

IGERT Fellow, Katherine Barteau, has demonstrated the group's first solid polymer electrolyte based on block copolymers, and has also investigated the performance a family of polymers with different structures. This research will lead to a better understanding of ion transport in polymers. In collaboration with IGERT Researcher Brad Chmelka and IGERT Fellow, Justin Jahnke, she is investigating what happens when these polymer electrolytes are confined to nanoporous materials.
