Achievement

We taught a new course, STAIRCase II: Case Studies for Sustainable Energy Production. Students were afforded an opportunity to apply the concepts of sustainability to the analysis of sustainability-related challenges. In this class students (1) learned to distinguish the differences and characteristics of a case study/story, futures scenario, and sustainability analysis; (2) sharpened their skills in evaluating data, e.g., does the data support what the results show; (3) improved their critical thinking and ability to critique work as they reviewed each other's work; and (4) provided an opportunity for students to refine their scientific writing style to present data and use sources effectively. Students are required to submit their work for external review.
