KT finite-volume numerical method

IGERT fellow Michael Crochet completed testing of the Kurganov-Tadmor (KT) finite-volume numerical method to account for special source terms that arise in our multiphase flow model and in similar models describing flows encountered in chemical engineering applications. The KT method is also used by other students in the IGERT group in developing astrophysics simulations. This work allows researchers to take advantage of the relative simplicity of the KT method and apply it to different types of flows containing the same general class of source terms, while preserving the formal second-order accuracy of the original method.
