Achievement

As part of the ending of our IGERT, we decided an activity that would benefit students’ professionally and disseminate results of our project would be to sponsor groups of students to attend meetings if they had symposia proposals accepted. This activity is giving students an early opportunity to learn how to put together symposia, including choosing a theme, writing symposia proposals, individual presentation abstracts, and thinking about appropriate people, including Chinese colleagues. We have a faculty mentor coaching them through this. We are in the middle of this activity and have identified three meetings that students are submitting proposals to.
