Life cycle assessment of feedstocks

One major interdisciplinary research achievement which is nearing completion is a life cycle assessment of several regionally important potential feedstocks for cellulosic ethanol. This work extends the knowledge breadth and depth in understanding the life cycle impacts of cellulosic ethanol; breadth in that it covers feedststocks which have not been previously analyzed, and depth in that it analyzes them in greater detail than most previous studies. This work is being performed by Trainee Michael Brodeur-Campbell in collaboration with Sustainable Futures faculty members from Engineering, Forestry, and Social Sciences departments.
