Four local research proposals awarded

Nat Dyment, IGERT trainee, working with IGERT co-PI Dave Butler, assisted in the preparation of four local research proposals that were recently awarded. These included one from the Cincinnati Sportsmedicine and Orthopedic Center Research Fund on "ECM-Mediated Approach for Inducing Tendon Regeneration" ($28,000), one from the University Orthopedic Research ad Education Foundation on a "Cell-Mediated Approach for Inducing Tendon Degeneration" ($15,000), and one from the University of Cincinnati Research Council on Regional Compressive Stimulation of Tendon Tissue Engineered Constructs to Enhance Tendon to Bone Insertional Healing ($25,000). A requirement of the later award was that it must be interdisciplinary in nature. The fourth award was from the University Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation on "The Temporal and Spatial Relationship of col1 and col2 Expression During Skeletal Regeneration: a Transgenic Murine Study" ($15,000).
