Research Achievements

Interagency coordination for watershed management

IGERT Trainees Hollie Hall, Susanna Blair, Megan Brown, and Anna Cathy spearheaded a research program directed toward developing bi-state interagency coordination for watershed management between Florida and Georgia for the St Mary's Rivers which forms a portion of the boarder between the two states. Collaborating with students and faculty from the University of Florida's Levin College of Law and working with 6 state agencies from Georgia and Florida and the USEPA they developed an interdisciplinary team approach solving serious water quality issues in the shared river. Synthesizing existing data on the river and surveying stakeholder groups they developed a report outlining an adaptive management approach to achieve a more robust program of water quality monitoring for long-term management of this transboundary watershed
