Trainees organize NSF-IGERT poster competition

IGERT fellows Luis Alverque, Michael Crochet and Nathan Lane organized the 2010 NSF-IGERT Poster Competition. This competition was intended to promote current research by LSU graduate students in CFD and related computational disciplines to a broader scientific audience comprised of mechanical engineering students and professors. There was significant interest and participation in the competition, with 16 poster submissions from students representing mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, engineering science, and astrophysics. Awards were presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Additional details can be found at http://me.lsu.edu/~gradconf/. Co-wrote a minigrant with Luis and Nathan to secure funding for the event.
