Research Achievements

Coursework and seminars lead to to research projects

The coursework and seminars offered by the INCBN IGERT program have contributed not only to a better academic understanding of nanoscience in relation to cell biology and neuroscience, but also have contributed directly to research projects of the Trainees. For example, significant portion of the research conducted by Patrick Cutler involves single particle tracking of quantum dots (QDs) to characterize the mobility of QD-IgE-FcepsilonRI on live cells under resting and stimulated conditions. Much of the coursework and seminars have had a direct relation to quantum dots and their applications in cell biology. Attending these courses and seminars has contributed to a better understanding of quantum dots and their interactions with their environment.
