Achievement

IGERT trainees took a one-semester course on sustainability engineering. This course taught students design and use principles for sustainability. All of the students participated in multidisciplinary teams to design and implement a sustainability project. A number of the projects contributed to the design of a smart farm that will be built on the WSU campus. The smart farm design, in which the students participated, has a goal of net-zero resource usage and will monitor the well being of residents, animals, and crops on the farm.
