Trainees visit DC to set up internships

All but one of the IGERT students visited Washington DC with three of the faculty who teach the Policy Studio Course at the conclusion of the course with the goal of making connections for setting up a required internship. Students met with representatives from agencies including the National Science Foundation, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Environmental Protection Agency. The goal of the Policy Studio Course is to provide science and engineering graduate students with an immersion into the basics of environmental policy making, regulations, and government and prepare them for the trip to DC and subsequent internship. The course was team taught by faculty from our Division of Government and Political Science.
