About Me

I am currently a PhD student interested in coral reef ecology, specifically impacts of climate change in important coral species, such as: Montastraea annularis species complex and Acropora palmara and A. cervicornis. I am also interested in population dynamics of keystone species such as the black sea urchin Diadema antillarum. Furthermore, I want to integrate remote sensing and GIS techniques to study these aspects of marine biology. Furthermore, I would like to integrate human coastal communities in the decision making of the natural resources that surrounds them. I believe that sustainable communities can be created by the integration of the local ecological knowledge that people have about the natural environment they live in.
