About Me

I am a current Ph.D. candidate at Oregon State University (School of Design and Human Environment) studying person-environment (P-E) fit, or how older adults identify with, relate to, and function with their home environment. More specifically, I am interested in the accessibility and usability of the built environment, and how objective and subjective P-E fit relates to the concept of aging well. My research primarily focuses on design and policy, but has been strengthened with a secondary focus in biomechanics (allowing a deeper understanding of how functional capacities intersect with accessibility and usability). The exploration and quantification of these concepts can help contribute to better design, housing, and community health policies for older adults throughout the lifespan.
