About Me
Drew was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She became interested in science due to dinner time conversations with her father and brother on topics ranging from cosmology to quantum physics, ecology and human biology. She decided to pursue a field related to medicine after undergoing a spinal fusion at age 14 due to severe scoliosis. Drew spent time at Boston University and Santa Monica College before attending UC Merced where she became BioEngineer and began to work with Dr. Kara McCloskey as an undergraduate. Drew is now pursuing her PhD under Dr. McCloskey and focuses on embryonic stem cell fate of cardiovascular cells.
