About Me

I study how children learn the sounds of their language(s) and how they use them in interpreting words in speech. I’m particularly interested in studying how the child’s phonology and lexicon develop in bilingual environments or children who are learning a replacement language (as in the case with international adopted children). I think that by studying these special populations, and determining how they differ from typically-developing monolingual children, we can gain insight into the inductive mechanisms that help all infants learn language.
