About Me

Our research integrates microbial physiology, ecology and genomics, focusing on abundant marine microorganisms and their role in geochemical processes. One of our major study sites has been the Bermuda Atlantic Time Series Study site (BATS), in the Northwestern Sargasso Sea. We founded the High Throughput Culturing Laboratory, which resulted in the cultivation of some of the ocean’s most abundant microorganisms.
