About Me

My research interest in the past 20 years have mainly focused on two areas: 1) chromatin structure and function in global regulation of genes using plants as model systems. 2) mechanism and function of cell death control in plants. In the past 5 years, I have also started projects to apply our technical know-how in plant genetic engineering toward creating better feedstocks to facilitate the conversion of biomass into biofuels in an effort to produce more sustainable sources of energy for our planet.
