About Me

The Multinational Collaborations on Challenges to the Environment IGERT ended January 31, 2011!

Two endeavors have spun-off from that IGERT. The first is a continuation of a series of studies initiated in 2005 in China. Former fellows Julie Combs, Amanda Henck-Schmidt (Assistant Professor, Oberlin College), Lauren Urgenson and Professor and former coPI Stevan Harrell are involved in an assessment of the role of a series of policies implemented over the last 60 years in China have had on indigenous populations and their ability to live sustainably in forested environments. Second, I am coPI with a faculty member in Public Health on a joint Department of Global Health and College of the Environment endeavor to develop cross-cutting interdisciplinary research and instructional activities at the interface of human and environmental health.
