About Me
I love historical linguistics, the study of how languages have changed over time, and the way in which historical linguistics can be integrated with other disciplines. Specifically, I’m interested in using phylogenetic systematics, the methods developed in biology for reconstructing evolutionary trees of organisms, to reconstruct the evolutionary history of a language family or writing system. I’m also interested in using historical linguistics in conjunction with the archaeological record to reconstruct the human past.
