Identification of protein-coding regions
The identification of all protein-coding elements in a genome is a fundamental goal of gene annotation. In previous work, IGERT student Natalie Castellana demonstrated that tandem mass spectrometry (MS)... More »
About Me
I am currently a fifth year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of California-San Diego interested in Bioinformatics. My advisor is Dr. Vineet Bafna and my IGERT co-advisor is Dr. Steve Briggs. I am currently interested in applications of peptide mass spectrometry, particularly proteogenomics. Using computational tools, we are able to determine relative abundances of proteins, chemical modifications of proteins, and discover novel protein-coding genes.
