2014 IEEE-EMBS BRAIN Grand Challenges: Young Investigator Awardees

In response to President Obama’s BRAIN Initiative, leaders in the field of neural engineering research recently met in Washington DC to discuss challenges in developing technologies to map neural circuits, understand functional neural dynamics, control neural circuits, and restore function. Another goal of this 2014 IEEE EMBS BRAIN Grand Challenges Conference was to engage and recognize outstanding young investigators working on innovative BRAIN research. We are pleased to announce that Brad Edelman received the Young Investigator Award and Allison Connolly received an Honorable Mention. Both Brad and Allison are PhD students in our Systems Neuroengineering IGERT program.
