Elementary school students, teachers, and UC Davis mentors on a field day for the Kids into Discovering Science program

Graduate students and researchers from UC Davis mentor elementary students from a rural school in Lake County, California in the Kids into Discovering Science (KiDS) program. The program includes classroom activities, instruction that meets California’s science standards, and a field trip to the McLaughlin Natural Reserve. Postdoctoral scholars Kara Moore O’Leary and Barbara Going, and faculty member Maureen Stanton developed the KiDS program, with active participation by students from the REACH IGERT and other UC Davis graduate programs.
