Research on C-H Bond Activation by Pd-substituted ceria

Sychrotron diffraction from catalysts.

Sychrotron diffraction from catalysts.

Synchrotron x-ray diffraction data for 5% Pd-substituted ceria, reduced in flowing 5% H2 in Ar at 700C for 8 hrs. The Rietveld refinement shows fcc-Pd metal to be quantitatively present with a mole ratio of 0.05. Such characterization, using national facilities )the synchrotron light source at Argonne National Laboratory) is a critical component in advancing our understanding of new catalyst systems.
