Intrathecal Injection of Protocells Loaded with pDNA-IL-10 Results in Short Term Pain Relief

All rats were treated with i.t. injection of protocells (1mg) supporting a DOTAP: CHOL 1:1 lipid bilayer and loaded with pDNA-IL-10 (10ug). Withdrawal responses from ipsilateral (left) and contralateral (right) hindpaws, transiently returned to baseline values for ~6 days following injections. The Y-axis (right) is the stimulus intensity in grams and the Y-axis (left) is the log stimulus intensity (mg x 10). The X- axis depicts time at baseline (BL), before injection and hours post injection.
