Postdoctoral position in biofuels agronomy

A POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE position at the University of Florida Everglades Research and Education Center in Belle Glade, FL is available starting Oct. 11, 2010, duration 2 years. A completed Ph.D. in agronomy or related field required. The postdoctoral position will focus on sugarcane and biofuel agronomy and cultivar development. Responsibilities will include: planting and harvesting of agronomic and breeding trials on perennial grasses, supervising field labor crews, performing plant growth, physiology, yield and disease resistance measurements, data entry and statistical analyses, and manuscript preparation. The successful candidate will have field research experience with agronomic crops and will have published in refereed journals. Experience with sugarcane or working with culturally diverse teams desirable but not required. Salary $50,000 plus benefits.
