Congratulations to CGI trainees who graduated with PhD

Congratulations to Clean Energy for Green Industry (CGI) IGERT trainees Nicholas Nairn-Birch and Joshua Shapiro who have graduated with PhD in the past year. Both trainees are from CGI’s first cohort group.
Nicholas Nairn-Birch (Environmental Science and Engineering) completed his studies under Professor Magali Delmas (CGI co-PI). He measured the relationships between business strategy, energy dependency and emissions of greenhouse gases. He is now working for the Environmental Protection Agency, where he previously interned.
Joshua Shapiro (Electrical Engineering) completed his studies under Professor Diana Huffaker (CGI PI). He conducted research on the growth and characterization of high quality three dimensional heterostructures for optoelectronic devices. He is now working for Northrup Grumann in their management training program in the area of cyber security.
