2012 IGERT Annual PI Meeting

Please save the date for May 30 – June 1, 2012 for the IGERT Annual PI Meeting. The meeting will begin the evening of May 30, conclude the afternoon of June 1, and be held at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC. Further details will be sent out soon. Our event contractor is Guardians of Honor, LLC (GOH), who will be contacting you with registration information.
One Principal Investigator, one Program Coordinator, and one Trainee (the lead trainee for the Video and Poster Competition) from each IGERT are invited to attend. IGERTs with No Cost Extensions may attend as long as funds are available and a trainee attends. New IGERTs may not have trainees, but are encouraged to attend as well.
Our program this year will include:
• Keynotes: Dan Mote, University of Maryland and Griffin Weber, CTO, Harvard University
• Emerging Science and Engineering: Findings from IGERT – Technical Sessions
• Poster Session and announcement of 2012 Online Video and Poster Competition winners
The 2012 IGERT Annual PI Meeting will feature six technical sessions covering emerging interdisciplinary research themes. IGERT PIs interested in presenting a 10-12 minute talk at one of these sessions are encouraged to submit an abstract describing their interdisciplinary research within the context of the larger research area. Specifically, presentation content should appeal to an interdisciplinary audience with a common interest in the larger umbrella theme (e.g. sustainability, energy, materials, etc.).
